Discovering Purpose
My name is Nicolas. When I was just a small boy, my grandmother introduced me to a side of life I had yet to discover—loving and caring for animals. She surprised me with my first dog, a pug-chihuahua mix I named Lily Bug. She was the sweetest, most adorable little thing I could have ever wanted. My heart expanded in a way I didn’t yet have language for. Without realizing it, I discovered a piece of my purpose.
As I grew older, that connection continued to follow me. In high school, I began accepting house sitting opportunities from friends and family. I loved the sense of responsibility, and the chance to care for as many pets as I could—each one with their own personality, their own rhythm, their own way of being in the world. I accepted every opportunity that came my way, and what began as simple acts of help slowly became something I knew I was meant to do.
Meaningful Bonds
In 2022, I was given a full-time opportunity to care for a special needs Golden Retriever, Suzy Q. Suzy faced many challenges early on in life, having been born with only three legs, but she taught me that there is no challenge in this life that can keep your spirit down if you choose not to let it. My time spent with Suzy is something I hold dear to my heart—not only for the relationship I was able to build with her, but with her pet parents as well. The personal relationships I’m able to develop with others are a pillar of the work that I do.
After Suzy Q in 2022, and after years of experiences that continued to shape how I see care, presence, and responsibility, I moved through significant life changes leading into 2025. Through much contemplation and a world of infinite possibilities, I made the decision to create my own Premium Home & Pet Care business. Equipped with over 14 years of home and pet care experience, along with time spent as a professional residential and commercial cleaner, the puzzle pieces finally came together—revealing something that had been forming all along: Nicolas’ Home & Pet Services.
Rooted in Care
Through meditation, writing, and spending time in nature, I remain grounded so I can bring presence, clarity, and awareness into my work. These practices allow me to show up consistently as my best self and deliver the standard of care I’ve been building my entire life.
My vision is to touch as many lives as possible—furry, feathered, and human. Khalil Gibran wrote that work is love made visible. That is what this business represents for me. This is not something I have to do. It is something I was chosen to do, and I honor the gifts I’ve been given.
After 30 years on this Earth, I can finally say that I have found meaning and purpose: Nicolas’ Home & Pet Services is my vessel.
